On December 24 the Library of the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation (the Kremlin) hosted an exhibition “Dolls Fictitious Characters”.

At this exposition Gallery of Anastasia Chizhova exhibited dolls by Olina Ventsel: Fictitious characters made of porcelain and dressed in hand-made historic costumes. This is the way the world-known artist saw the characters of Russian and foreign literature.

The exhibition represents just a small portion of Olina Ventsel's dolls collection available at the Gallery of Anastasia Chizhova. Dolls are displayed together with the books: “Anna Karenina” by Tolstoy, “The Queen of Spades” by Pushkin, “Masquerade” by Lermontov, “Parvenu” by Moliere. The characters seem to have walked from their pages.

Some editions of Russian and foreign classics have been granted by the museum of rare books of the Russian State Library.
